BLOHM celebrates 90 years of drill bushes
A significant birthday - BLOHM's drill bushes turn 90 and are as popular as ever. Industries welcomed these precision products with open arms right from the launch in 1934. The drill bushes are now in the good company of numerous other standard and operating parts, as well as countless customer-specific special solutions. |
NORMTEILWERK ROBERT BLOHM has a long history characterised by change, but one constant has remained: the drill bushes. Since its inception in 1934, the portfolio has expanded to over 3000 product types. The quality and precision down to the µm range are the result of many years of expertise and a clear commitment to Germany as a production location.
Industries were quick to recognise the reliability of BLOHM products, which led to rapid company growth. Drill bush production was relocated from Hamburg to Büchen in Schleswig-Holstein in 1957.
In 1974, the drill bush production was legally and physically separated from the machine division of the company and was given the name NORMTEILWERK ROBERT BLOHM. The Blessing family took over the business in 1999 before, in 2021 BLOHM became part of the KIPP Group, a traditional family business from Baden-Württemberg. |

BLOHM's current range of services include the production of high-precision drill bushes and customised special solutions, as well as a range of around 35,000 high-quality standard and operating parts, which are being continuously expanded. Customers benefit not only from modern, high-performance machinery and a high level of vertical integration, but also from the extensive experience of almost 50 employees.
BLOHM is optimally positioned for the future. In addition to the continuous further development of new products and the training of new skilled personnel, the digitalisation of sales and production is also on the company's agenda. "Over the next few years, we will continue to optimise both our processes and our portfolio," concludes Otto Braun. "We will develop into a successful unit within the KIPP Group through creativity and innovation."
